Abdul Wadud is a Ph.D. candidate at the School of Computer Science, University College Dublin, Ireland and a Research Associate at the Bangladesh Institute of Governance and Management (BIGM), Dhaka, Bangladesh. He is a former Lecturer of ICT at Rajshahi Cantonment Public School and College. He pursued an MSc degree in Computer Science at the Department of Computer Science, South Asian University (SAU), New Delhi, India. He was awarded the prestigious President Scholarship and SAU Special Scholarship at SAU. In addition, he served as a Research Assistant for Dr. Bijoy Chand Chatterjee and Dr. Anas Basalamah on two different projects, respectively.

He is researching routing and spectrum allocation in space division multiplexing (SDM) based elastic optical networks (EONs). He has published research articles in top-tier Q1 journals like IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking, IEEE Transactions on Network and Service Management, IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, etc. His optimization, modeling, and resource allocation experiences in SDM-EONs have driven him to pursue further education in these related fields of optical networks.

His research interests include optical networks, resource allocation, mathematical modeling, machine learning, optimizations, and deep learning.
